I love this Fall Wreath Stamp from Serendipity Stamps. Its homey – but still elegant.
I decided to use it for the Cardvarrk challenge to make a tall card. I don’t make these very often – and I have a pack of tall envelopes so I really do not have an excuse! I think it also meets the color challenge for Splitcoast this week – although the only coral is in the colored apples.
I stamped my wreath in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored it with Copic Markers. The background paper is from left from last year (I’m trying to use up some scraps so I have the perfect excuse to go out and buy more!). The cardstock is Prism Dark Crabapple – its so pretty.
I cut the image out with a Labels 1 Nestibility die and inked the background with vintage photo distress ink and a duster brush.
I cut the Crabapple cardstock with the same die and cut it in half so I could spread it out and create the matte on the top and bottom of the image (I needed to trim the sides slightly so they did not show.
I saw this trick done with a different cutting die on a card created by gbedwright on Splitcoast and she was kind enough to explain how she did it.
So there is my tall, fall card….
We are frantically working on Halloween costume prep over here. I have one bat, one witch and one half of a two-headed purple monster. Sigh… J is being a two headed monster with her friend. So we are sewing two big purple sweatshirts together. (Hopefully they will still be friends after being stuck together all Halloween!)
The other problem I have not quite solved… All 3 girls are marching in the town Halloween Parade as part of the Girlscouts. I still have not figured out how to fit bat wings through the arm holes of a Brownie vest!!
On the plus side – the big bag of Halloween candy is still intact and not open (yay me!).
