A crisp autumn day…

A post – finally, can you believe it.  Its been a very busy week!

I really liked this Fall Scene Cling Stamp by Impression Obsession the first time I saw it.  It just looked like a place I’d love to visit.  I bet there is homemade apple pie in that farm house!

card-partsFor this card, I decided to create even more of a background and a foreground by stamping twice and cutting out the foreground elements.  Here are my 2 pieces colored with Copic markers.  (not a great pic – sorry – I had to take it at night).

I found this super sparkly glitter in a small stamp store while on vacation this summer and couldn’t resist (copper is my favorite metallic).

To apply the glitter, I used Oh So Sticky tape.  I just put the tape all around the image and then cut it out with a craft knife (saved me from measuring – yep – I’m lazy.  I’d rather spend my time coloring than anything else.)

This gave me my sparkly matte around the image and the glitter really seems to stick well to the tape.

fallscenecloseThen I mounted the cut image on to top of the background image with foam tape to create more dimension.

One quick tip – if you go around the cut edges of your image with the side of the marker (to color the cut edge) it does not show if you are not so perfect in your cutting.

I used the sketch from Card Positioning Systems to do the background.  The two circles are embossed with a Cuttlebug folder and then inked lightly with Vintage Photo Distress ink and a duster brush.

Here is a picture trying to show the layers.  This is one of those cards that really looks better in person (really… honest….)

The Cuttlebub Challange for this week is a Thanksgiving project.  Think this counts?

Hope everyone has a happy Friday.  (I’m hoping to stamp some more!)

Stunning! Absolutely and positively. I’m so tempted to say this is some of your best work, but all your work is your best, so I guess I just don’t know how to express to you how much I love this card. It looks like an awful lot of effort went into it. It’s spectacular!
