Cardinal in a tree…

We’ve had a pair of cardinals living in our yard for the past year or so (at least I think its the same pair).  I’m always a little thrilled to see them – especially on those dreary, cloudy days.

My card today is -yes- another Woodland  Whimsy card.  This one is from the Woodland Whimsy Cardinals digital stamp set.  The image is colored with Copic Markers.   I stamped the background with the Swatches background stamp.

I was going for an old nature journal kind of look… so I tried to distress it a bit.  I can say my house is pretty distressed, but I have a hard time distressing my cards!

Stamping for the Weekend has a “be inspired by fall colors” challenge – and since I used actual fall leaves to inspire the colors of the leaves in the image – I hope it fits the challenge!

I also used some orange in my leaves so it fits the Copic Creations blog challenge too.  But…. I did so much blending on my leaves that I had some ink travel beyond the print lines…  But I still liked the color combo so I decided to use it anyway.  I’m not sure you should show up at a Copic challenge blog with your ink bleed showing!

Hope everyone is having a great day.  I have some friends coming over tonight to do some stamping – so that will be fun!
