Hmm…. not sure that sounds right… but anyway..
I simply fell in love with the Christmas stocking project Alyssa made here in this post (go ahead, check it out – I’ll wait….)
I love everything about it – the proportion of the stocking, the cute pointy toe, the rusty jungle bells complete with star shaped holes – and the snazzy snowflake embellishment. Alyssa got her inspiration from Sweet Miss Daisy (one of my favorite blogs!) – so you can see another beautiful sample there.
I decided to try my hand at drawing it and the Alyssa’s Stocking digital stamp set freebie is the result:
The set contains the embellished stocking image that I used above, plus the stocking, snowflake and jinglebell images alone so you can create your own combo’s. I also included the Holly Jolly Christmas sentiment in two different orientations.
The file contains both JPG files and PNG’s. The PNG’s have transparent backgrounds, but the images are solid. So it should be very quick and easy to layer them in Photoshop or any other program that supports transparent backgrounds.
I had a lot of fun creating this little set and have some more ideas to use it. But I’d like to share the fun with all of you.
So how about a little challenge… with a prize…
Just make a project using some part of this digital freebie and put a link to it in a comment on this post (sorry – no Mr. Linky this time – long story…) by midnight EST on December 20th. I’ll randomly draw one winner to receive any digital stamp set in the store of their choice.
And… for extra credit, if you pop over to Alyssa’s blog post and leave a “thanks for the inspiration” comment I’ll put your entry in twice!
I know everyone is very busy making lists and checking them twice – so it might be hard to fit this in. But if you get the chance I’d love to see what you make!
So show us your Christmas stocking craftiness…. we want to see you embrace your inner elf…
