Sigh…. I’m so ready for spring. Warmer weather, sunshine, flowers and most importantly no more huge piles of soggy mittens and muddy boots all over my kitchen! But… we got 6 inches of the white stuff yesterday.
Visions of spring inspired this card. Its a bit “in your face” spring-y but I’m in the mood for it!
I have to say, I fell in love with this Home Sweet Home stamp set from Crafty Secrets the instant I saw it. I think it plays in to some childhood fantasies of living in a castle or something. But I seriously love it. (and the Garden Girls one too – but that is a post for another day).
I’ve been trying to do some challenges and sketches lately. This card was made using card sketch 84 from the Sketches by Tamara blog. The background paper is from the Basic Grey Urban Prairie pad and I used it to guide all my color choices.
I stamped the round house image from the Home Sweet Home set in Memento Tuxedo ink and cut it out with a Nestibility circle die. I also cut out a scalloped circle matte in pink. I colored the image with Copic markers. Here are the colors I used.
For the cross pieces, I embossed come Coordinations cardstock with the dots from the Just My Type Embossing border set and lightly sanded the bumps.
The sentiment is from the Home Sweet Home set too. I stamped it on a tag cut with the Ribbon Slide Spellbinders dies.
To get the green border on the ribbon slide, I coated the die with Versamagic Tea Leaves ink before I cut and embossed. I just pressed my ink pad all over the bottom side on the die. When you cut and emboss, the ink transfers to the paper making a border. Then I just added the ribbon scraps and brads.
Well, we have piles of snow here right now – but spring has to show up some time! Thanks for stopping by!

Great post, Cathy – loved all the links (lotsa effort on this one) and the card is to die for. I love it! You are the master with Copics.
6″ of snow! Bless your heart! Well, this beautiful spring card should brighten your day! Thanks for sharing the colors you used.
That house is gorgeous!
Great tip for the ribbon tag. I never, ever, would have thought of that in a million years!
I’m gonna have to try it.
