I wanted to play with my new Basic Grey June Bug paper pad – so I made a little thank you card.
I used the Princess for a Day cling stamp set. The set has 3 images and one sentiment from Eat Cake Graphics in it.
I colored it with Copics and cut the image out using the Label 1 Nestibilities dies. Its matted in a larger cut from the same die set. Since there were so many diamonds on the patterned paper, I decided to do the image like a diamond also.
I inked the image with Scattered Straw Distress ink using a duster brush before I removed the cutting die so I could get a yellow background with a white border.
The ribbon at the bottom is from the “I Want It White” embellishment collection. The ribbon was white and I simply colored with with my Copic marker to match the lighter blue in the background paper. You do not need much ink – just quickly run the wedge tip of the marker over your strip of ribbon.
One of the things I like best about this technique, it that the ribbon stiffens slightly when the ink dries. I tie my knot while the ribbon is still damp and maneuver the ends into position. When the ink dries – the knot or bow stays just where you put it. No more misbehaving ribbon ends!
Have a great day everyone – and thanks for looking!
This is a TOTALLY CUTE card!!! Wonderful stamp!
