An Easel Card…. pretty neat idea

harvesteasel_flatI decided to play along with the Splitcoast Stamper Technique challenge to make an Easel Card.

I had never seen them before – but I thought it was pretty clever.

The card is designed to prop up (like an easel) and become a little decoration.  You can get the directions to make the card from Splitcoast (link above).

Here is the front of the card.  Yes – I used my freebie digital stamp again. (I promise to post something else tomorrow!).  But if you want to use this stamp, you can download it from this blog post.

harvesteasel_upThe image is colored with Copics.  The paper is Prism Dark Seude, and some Bazzill and KI memories paper left over from last year (using those scraps again)

I used the square steps corner slot punch and the Diamond Elegance border punch along the bottom.

So…. when you open the card it props up like this.

A brad placed in the middle of the bottom holds the top in the tent position.  So the card can be easily set out for display.

Clever huh?

harvesteasel_insideYou can still write a message inside the card above where the brad is placed.

My only question is – do you think people would know how to set it up.   I mean non-card addicted people (notice I did not say “normal” people).

They are fun and easy to make though.

Oh, and one quick reminder:

The Paper Garden Projects Design Team call is open until October 25.  You can get more info in this post.

If you have applied and have not heard from me, it means we did not get your application.  So please contact us again.  We really want to see your stuff!

Your drawing is wonderful and you colored it so beautifully! What a great easel card! I saw that on SCS, but haven’t had time to play with it yet…busy working on another project! Once that’s done, I’ve got to try it!! I love the fall DP you chose for the inside! Very cute!

I LOVE that image of yours, and I’m going to get around to working with it at some point. :)

As for the easel card, I love that idea, too, since most of the cards we make could probably qualify as mini works of art. Do you think it would work to slip a little note inside the card to explain how to fold it so it stands up? Maybe even something printed small on the back of the card base? Just a few ideas for you…
