They’re Here – They’re Here!

cowgirlanyaHi everyone!

I had to clear the cobwebs off my poor blog (maybe I should have kept those for Halloween).

Between vacation, getting the young’ens ready for school and ordering all the yummy new fall and winter stuff for the store, things have been mighty busy around here!

But… The new goodies have started arriving (how exciting!)

Including….  the new Copic marker colors!

We’re so excited – we put ‘em on sale!

All Copic Sketch markers are 25% off  – and as always US shipping is free for orders over $60.

snewsketchblogThese new colors are very pale members of each color family.  They are great for blending with and for subtle coloring effects.  They can also be used to remove color from darker areas to create highlights.    You can see just the new pale colors here, or all the sketch markers here.

Unfortunately, the supplier only shipped half of what I ordered – so we don’t have as many available as I’d like.

We have so many other, fun new products and many more on the way.  Prism cardstock collections, new background stamps, new Penny Black sets, new Stampendous cling stamps… Oh my!  You can see everything new here.

About the card:

I used the cute Wild West Anya stamp from the Greeting Farm  (can cowgirls wear pink boots??).  She just looks so happy!

Anya is colored with Copics.  The paper is from the Fall Frolic cardstock collection.  I stamped the background with the Decorative Tile background stampand Versamark ink to give it some texture.

The sentiment is computer generated – then cut out with the Spellbinders tag die.  I added Antique Linen and Vintage Photo distress inksto the cardstock to try to antique it a little.

Well, the young’ens (OK – enough with the feeble wild west accent…) don’t start school till the 8th.  So we may try to squeeze in a little more summer.  I’m always surprised at how fast it goes by.

Teacher Anya Graduation Card

teacheranyapocketI made this little pocket card for my niece’s high school graduation so I could give her a check with a little style.  I used the Greeting Farm Teacher Anya stamp.

I colored Anya with Copic Markers and added a little texture to her sweater vest by lightly dotting the colorless blender over it.

She is cut out with a Nestibilities circle die.  I masked her and left the die in place – then applied scattered straw distress inkto the background with a duster brush.  She is matted with a scalloped circle Nestibilities die.

teacheranyapocketinsideI cut the Prism Classic Red base cardstock 5 1/2″ wide and 9 1/2″ long – then scored at 2″ from one side to make the pocket inside.  I punched the flap edge with the Fiskars Apron Lace border punch.

The patterned paper is the Cosmo Cricket Early Bird collection.  I love this paper set – I wish I could redo my kitchen with it!  I can’t wait till they come out with the smaller paper pads.  The smaller patterns are great for cards.

Once side of the paper is used on the top flap and the other side on the pocket that shows at the bottom.  Then I just added a ivory piece to write on (the sentiment is from the Rock the Farm stamp set).

Well, we are planning a little family time and we are “supposed” to “unplug” for a couple weeks – so there *probably* won’t be any blog posts for a while.  (unless I sneak down here in the dead of night…. I’m feeling withdrawal symptoms already!)

Also – I will not be shipping any orders from the Paper Garden Projects Store until August 17 .

(I did however negotiate the ability to check the store E-mail, arguing that it is necessary, business related computer time and therefore does not count towards the “unplug” goal…. ha!  (can Splitcoast be part of my business related computer time…?)  Ugghhh… wish me luck…. who knows what kind of addictive behavior I will develop when not allowed to surf!

Have a wonderful couple of week everyone!

New Greeting Farm stamps featuring Miss Anya

rainsnowshine1Nothing quite like new rubber stamps!

As soon as I got the Rain, Snow, Shine Miss Anya set, I had to try it out.  Greeting Farm stamps are so fun to color.  They have enough detail to be interesting but still have space to color and blend.

My initial plan for this card was to paper piece the coat and the umbrella – but I got carried away coloring with Copics and this is what happened.  I guess I’ll have to make another card to try the paper piecing.

The papers used here are from the Urban Prairie Paper Pad (one of my faves).   I used the Labels 4 Spellbinder die to cut out the image.  I inked the background with a duster brush and Broken China Distress ink.

whiteflowersAnd I got to use my new ZigZag boarder punch.  The punch cuts the zigzag and then embosses stitching above the zigzag.  It was so easy to trace the embossing with an Inkessential pen to create stitches.

The paper flowers started out white – I just colored them with the same Copics I used for the stamp – I love being able to do that.

The set has 3 very cute images.  I want to try covering the sunglasses on the “Shine” stamp with Crystal Effects to make them look like glass.
